An Ithaca, NY Vacation Home

Meet Shangri-Lodge, our newest vacation home which opened September 2014.  It’s located in Ithaca on the west hill, a five minute drive to downtown but a world away from city life.  Country setting, city convenience.  This home offers six bedrooms, four bathrooms, an amazing brand-new gourmet kitchen and a great open floor plan with 3600 square feet of space.  Quite frankly, it is an awesome house.

Per night (USD): $700 – $950 | Bedrooms: 6 | Sleeps: 13 | Bathrooms: 4 | Minimum Stay: 3 – 5 nights

The main level consists of the great room, kitchen, library/dining room, five bedrooms, three bathrooms and a laundry room.  The upper level has a queen size bedroom with additional twin bed and en suite bathroom.  The lower walk-out level has an additional family room which walks out to the seven person Jacuzzi hot tub and the creek beyond.  This room has an 8′ pool table, a game table, a large HDTV, an electric fireplace and a large sectional sofa.

This house began as a 1950’s mid-century ranch.  Then, in the ’80’s the house doubled in size with an addition that includes a great room who’s exposed wood beams and a vaulted tongue and groove ceiling and walk-in fireplace are reminiscent of a large mountain lodge.  Skylights, picture windows, bay windows and the house’s openness all combine to provide an expansive airy feeling of space and beauty, inside and out.

The house sits on 14 acres of land which includes barns and outbuildings, meadows, lawns, gardens, many trees, a huge pond with a rope swing plus our own creek complete with waterfalls.

The vistas beyond the property are of cornfields and forests.  Wildlife romps in our backyard and on the pond.  We currently have a family of geese, mom, dad and four goslings who have made the pond their home.  A great blue Heron comes to visit the pond as well.

Note: Not suitable for weddings, receptions, parties or gatherings which include outside guests. Property is for the use and enjoyment of registered guests only, unless prior approval from owners is given.
